A Name Reservation is the mandatory first step for any corporation using a custom word name. It ensures your chosen name is not identical or confusingly similar to an existing business already registered in the province.
A corporate name in N.L. must consist of three distinct elements to be approved: Distinctive, Descriptive, and Legal.
Every N.L. corporation must end with a legal designation. Under the Corporations Act, you may choose from any of the following (they all carry the same legal weight):

Your name should follow the "Distinctive + Descriptive + Legal" formula. This helps the Registry identify your business quickly and prevents confusion with competitors.
